"Lea Lyn Bennett did our wedding music. We loved her! Everything was perfect!"
Lea grew up in Hawaii and began studying harp at age 9. Her teacher was Susi Hussong, the harpist for the Honolulu Symphony. At the age of 15, while performing for a wedding at the exclusive Cannon Club on Diamond Head, Lea was hired to play weekly in the Club's main dining room. At only 17, Lea was accepted to BYU as a Harp performance major and went on to receive her Bachelor of Music Degree in Harp Performance from California State University in Los Angeles, under the direction of world-renowned harp professor and performer Susann McDonald. While in L.A. she continued her studies in arranging and performing popular music on the harp with recording artist DeWayne Fulton.
For the next several years Lea resided and performed in Southern California. For over 5 years she was the featured performer in the 5 Star dining room of Magic Island, a private club in Newport Beach. Lea also opened the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dana Point where she performed 4-5 hours a night, 7 nights a week. She has been a regular performer at the Hotel Del Coronado, Grand Hyatt Hotels, Marriott Hotels, The Montage Resort, and the exclusive Golden Door Resort and Spa in San Diego. Currently residing in Utah County, Lea teaches students of all ages and abilities and averages over 100 performances a year in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas.
